Stamped concrete gives you the look of slate, flagstone, cobblestone or wood plank at a price closer to plain concrete than to real stone. We stamp patios, front walks, driveways and pool decks across Fort Worth. Call (817) 207-5579 and we will bring pattern and color samples to the estimate.
How a stamped slab gets made
- We pour and screed the slab the same way as any other, with steel on chairs and a good base.
- Color goes in one of two ways: mixed into the whole load at the plant, or broadcast on the surface as a color hardener while it is wet.
- A release agent goes on top. It keeps the mats from sticking and leaves a second, darker tone in the low spots.
- The crew lays rubber stamping mats in a row and tamps them in while the concrete is still soft enough to take the texture.
- After a few days we wash off the extra release and cut the control joints.
- Once the slab cures, we roll on a sealer that brings the color out and keeps stains from soaking in.
Timing matters more than anything with stamped work. In a Fort Worth summer the window to stamp a slab closes fast, so we start these pours at first light and bring enough hands to keep up.
| Job | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Stamped, one color, per sq ft | $12 to $16 |
| Stamped with color hardener and accent release, per sq ft | $15 to $20 |
| Stamped border on a broom finish slab | Priced by the linear foot |
| Reseal an existing stamped patio | Ask at the estimate |
Typical ranges, not quotes. Pattern, number of colors and how much hand detail the edges need set the final price.
Patterns and colors people pick
- Ashlar slate: rectangles in mixed sizes, the most common choice for patios
- Random stone or flagstone: irregular shapes that look laid by hand
- Cobblestone or brick: borders, walks and driveway aprons
- Wood plank: a deck look around pools, without the splinters or the rot
Earth tones like tan, brown and gray go with most brick homes in Fort Worth. Dark charcoal and deep red look sharp but soak up more summer heat.

Upkeep on stamped concrete
Plan to wash and reseal stamped concrete every few years. Sealer wears fastest where cars turn and where sprinklers hit. A sealed stamped surface can get slick when wet, so on pool decks and steps we mix a fine grit into the sealer. Stamped concrete can still crack like any slab. Good joints keep most cracks in the grout lines of the pattern, where they are hard to spot.

Questions about Stamped Concrete in Fort Worth
- Is stamped concrete slippery?
- Sealed stamped concrete can be slick when wet. We add a fine anti-slip grit to the sealer on pool decks, steps and walks.
- Can you stamp my existing concrete?
- No. Stamping happens while the concrete is wet. For an old slab, the options are a stained finish, a thin overlay or tearing it out and pouring new.
- How long does stamped concrete last?
- As long as the slab under it, if it gets resealed every few years. Faded sealer makes the color look washed out, and fresh sealer brings it back.
